“A house concert not in a house with a few extras thrown in.” That’s how Larry Hembree, producer of A Constant Old Vibration, describes the experience of this intimate multimedia acoustic performance from Total Denial, one of the Capital City’s best-loved musical acts.
Hosted in the heart of downtown Columbia, at the vibrant creative space Tapp’s Arts Center’s Fountain Room (recently dubbed the SODA Live), A Constant Old Vibration pairs original live music written and performed by Total Denial’s band members–banjoist Elizabeth Cameron, bassist Mike Cameron, and guitarists Jody Creel and Patti Ficken–with classic covers, personal histories, photos plucked from family and public archives, and appearances from a range of special musical guests, including flutist Becky Rebl, fiddler Phil Hurd, and young singer-songwriter Emma Carter.
“The artists of Total Denial write and play music because it is in the fabric of their souls,” Hembree says. “We’ve gotten to know each other well over the years, and I thought it was time for them to tell the story of their creative journeys.”
Admission is $15. There will a beer & wine bar at the event. Cash and card accepted.
