COMMUNITY CONVERSATION: ADDRESSING RACE RELATIONS BETWEEN ARTISTS AND BUSINESS OWNERS IN FIVE POINTS

October 1, 2020 @ 6:30 am - 7:30 am

| FREE
(COLUMBIA, SC): Yuhas and Dancers, Tapp’s Outpost, and One Columbia are holding a joint virtual discussion about race relations in Five Points on Thursday, October 1st at 6:30 p.m.
This forum comes two weeks after a business owner called the police on a group of artists from Yuhas & Dancers and non-profit arts organization Tapp’s Outpost, who were setting up for a public art performance. Many of these performers are women of color and believe this incident shows a pattern of mistreatment of BIPOC people in Five Points.
The panel will host members of the Columbia art community as well as Five Points business owners. A liaison from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department will also attend. This discussion will take place on Zoom. All members of the community are encouraged to attend the conversation through Facebook Live.
