Infinite Room: CHEER-ACCIDENT // Occupants

June 20, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

| $8
@ Tapp's Arts Center

Hailing from the singularly vibrant musical hotbed known as Chicago, CHEER-ACCIDENT has been a creative, vital force in rock music for over 25 years. They constantly strive to surprise their audiences and themselves through relentless reinvention. From dreamy pop to angular art-rock, CHEER-ACCIDENT strikes a powerful balance between personalized and unique studio wizardry and the visceral excitement of a well-honed, explosive live rock band.

Presenting itself in various configurations, the band’s core personnel is frequently augmented by some of Chicago’s finest musicians. Their body of work is unparalleled in its ambition and originality, and their latest release, “Putting Off Death” (on Cuneiform Records), demonstrates how the band continues to improve with each passing year. They will be performing this September at the Rock in Opposition Festival in Midi-Pyrenees, France, along with Faust, Slapp Happy, Gong, and other notable progressive acts.

Opening the show will be Columbia’s finest noise-jazz trio, Occupants. Occupants will performing for the first time since mid-2015 (as far as anyone can recall). Occupants are Michael Crawford (from ET Anderson) on drums, Gabe Madden (from Modalcoda) on guitar and trumpet, and Tom Law (ex-Conundrum) on laptop/samples.

The door will open at 7:30pm, and an $8 admission fee will be collected at that door. The music will commence at 8pm. Further information can be obtained on the World Wide Web at www.conundrum.us or by using a telephone to dial (803) 250-1295.
